Bulgaria"s customs have collected BGN 800 M more in revenue for 2011 than for 2010, revealed national Customs Agency head Vany Tanov.

Speaking in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio Sunday, Tanov said the customs had done a fine job for Bulgaria"s budget in 2011 and vowed to keep up the work.

"The state budget for 2012 previews BGN 1 B more in revenue for the year, and will do everything possible to make that money available to the state," said the customs head.

Tanov further added that the implementation of measuring devices at fuel company Lukoil Bulgaria is underway and that the company will be working under a temporary permit until the process is finalized.

Over the summer of 2011, Tanov repealed the license of Lukoil over delayed installation of the measuring devices, which caused a controversy in the country.

The incident raised the issues about whether Lukoil has unofficial support on the part of the Bulgarian position and whether it occupies a dominant position on the fuel market.

The company appealed the permit cancellation and won the case, after which the state appealed; the proceedings are still under way.

Friday Tanov said that if the measurment devices installation procedure goes in order, Lukoil might have its license reinstated in a week.
